Discharge
Let's workshop this poem that captures a vulnerable moment in the night life of a tween girl, longing for freedom from the burden of Christian guilt
Discharge
Just before having surged up
from bed in guilt sweat,
the Lord-frightened little bloom
let her guard slip in a wish,
on the drooling brink
of damp dreams, that she belong
to some loinclothed tribe
enjungled enough to enjoy
never having heard the Gospel.
