Costs You Nothing
Let’s workshop this poem about standing at the edge of vengeance and hearing, beneath the ice, the slow work of our shared capacity for suffering.
scent of the day: EO No. 1 Assam (Parfum), by Ensar Oud
This is only my first wear
a base-heavy fragrance that highlights the fruity-tobacco and medicinal-leather facets of assam oud (rather than the chocolaty cowpat facets), throwing it wide and smooth with vanilla and ambergris and—despite what we might normally expect from an assam-rose fragrance (indian, turkish, and Austrian roses)—tilting it into squarely into the amber fougere category with the help of greenery (lavender, oakmoss, cypress) and resins (tolu balsam, ethiopian frankinsence, omani green frankinsence, labdanum). / Fruity and ambergris-thrown twist on Varuek’s castoreum style leather /assam eo is very leather oriented / smells a lot like castoreum leather like i get in varuek (price point difference thereby is glaring)
Costs You Nothing Instead of kicking in the door for vengeance bound to bruise you too in the end, spare a prayer for sentience in need (real or dreamed) and then revisit—or, at very least, spare a prayer for history’s gravediggers shoveling into their shared fate of rime, root, rock.
