Cheers to the Almighty

Let's workshop this poem about gratitude for whatever falls one's way (set to the song "Alhamdu Lillah" by Raef)

Cheers to the Almighty 

She praised Allah 
for her stroke,
“al-Ḥamdu lillāh,” 
because now 

she was deaf to all
the gossip of gatherings 
(which she still sensed 
from the sudden animation,

the head shakes 
and the shock mouths, 
badly covering 
schadenfreude smiles).
