Boast
Let’s workshop this poem about a spirit medium who is not shy about revealing the dark underbelly of torments that come alongside his gift of intimacy with the great beyond
Boast
The dry-hotline spirit medium,
insecure around the kin
of his mom-wife, tells the table
at Easter (like a dieter
bemoaning her unease in public
“with all the recent catcalling”)
how he can get no sleep lately
“with all the missing kids”
tugging at his astral pantlegs.
